The Jonestown Mall was the crowning event for Phillip Arthur Jones. Located in downtown Elmcrest, the mall would make him millions.
After his loss to Kid Combat at Maple Forest, Jones concentrated all efforts on securing a place downtown where he could weed the townspeople’s money away from them.
The Jonestown Mall was a renovated courthouse that sat right off of Main Street. It had three floors and housed hundreds of business- all of which Jones made a percentage off of.
At the grand opening, Jones had the mall decked out for a big party. Balloons, banners, and streamers were decorating every surface of the mall. Jones himself invited every member of press there to cover the event- mainly to get more time on TV.
Jones himself made the opening speech. The town cheered him as he marked the new mall “open for business.” But, when Jones turned the floor over to the reporters for a few questions- he was surpised to find he was not what the town wanted to talk about.
The first reporter set the tone by asking a question about Kid Combat. The second did the same. And within seconds, the place was a buzz with conversations about Kid Combat.
Angered and enraged, Jones strucked the podium and released his anger for the first time in front of his town.
Everyone froze as they didn’t expect to see the monster that lied beneath the surface of Jones. Knowing he made an error, Jones simply retreated into his mall- not saying another word.
