10.01.09 - Author Christopher A Helwink donates 20 copies to Little Red Wagon Foundation
The donation of books continue as Mr. Helwink has donated 20 copies of Vol I to Little Red Wagon Foundation. You may remember the founder of Little Red Wagon, Zach, as he walked from his house in Tampa to the White House. He plans a coast to coast trip in 2010. 9.30.09 - Volume II slightly delayed till October '09
As September comes to a close, we regret to inform you that Volume II has hit a small delay and wont be ready till October. We are striving to make V II everything it can be, and hit a few snags across the way. The book will be out in October, probably around the 21st.
9.1.09 - Kid Combat donates copies to "Reading For Kids"
Kid Combat has donated 20 copies of Volume I, 800 bookmarks, and hundreds of pencils to the organization "Reading For Kids". You can check out their website here www.readingtokids.org.

6.07.09 - Kid Combat at 2009 Chicago Printers Row Lit Fest
Kid Combat returned to Chicago Tribunes Printers Row Lit Fest on June 6-7, 2009. Once again, the first book in the Kid Combat series, A Secret Lost was featured - and a hit amoungst the crowd.
Being featured at its own table, Kid Combat was a busy place as kids of all ages stopped by to check out the art work, pick up their copy of A Secret Lost, and get their books autographed by author Christopher A. Helwink.
If you took a break away from the action, and headed over to Bar Louie, you would also see Kid Combat artwork displayed around the restaurant.
The BIG news of the weekend came when it was unveiled that the second book of the series, The Heist of Spring Road Toys, will be out in mid-September!
More news on that later as Kid Combat celebrates another successfull weekend in Chicago.

2.11.09 - Markets Picked for Kid Combat Commercial
The first two markets for the Kid Combat commercial have been picked. The first two markets will be Chicago and Los Angeles. The commercial will begin showing in March.

In a recent interview, author Christopher A. Helwink stated that there will be major Kid Combat news coming over the next few weeks:
"Be prepared for a storm of activity surrounding Kid Combat. Sometime between Christmas and the New Year, we will post news on all sorts of subjects."
When asked what subjects would be, Christopher continued:
"They will range from when Volume II will be out, and in what forms, the return of the message board, mailing lists for Kid Combat updates, and even more news on Volume III. It's an exciting time right now, and this is hopefully just the beginning..."

11.22.08 Kid Combat Commercial Arrives!
The sixty-second commercial for the Kid Combat book series is here. It will be distributed to the test markets and will air on all major networks and their affiliates.
6.25.08 - Kid Combat's new website launches
Kid Combat is growing by leaps and bounds and in order to facilitate all the information that has been gathered - the Kid Combat website has gone through a major overhaul.
As you can see, things are brighter, friendlier, and easier to find! There is a ton of new online content, including a lot more information for educators, more downloadable content, greater and easier to find content on characters, locations, and character blogs!
Not to mention a lot of hidden content. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for secret info - including more info on Jones, and maybe even a chance to read a sneak peak look at Volume II: A Secret Lost!
6.08.08 - Kid Combat a hit at Printers Row!
Kid Combat was very well received at the Chicago Tribunes Printers Row Book Fair in Chicago over the weekend. The crowds were thick around the picturious tables that housed thirty-one productions and Kid Combat. At the fair, the first book in the Kid Combat series - A Secret Lost - had its own booth which featured a pictorial overview of the book. Bookmarks, pencils, balloons, and even jelly wristbands were passed out and sold at the booth. Christopher A. Helwink was also on hand signing many copies of his book which was well received by the Chicago crowd. Click here for more info and pictures of the event.
6.05.08 - thirty-one productions signs deal with HSG - Kid Combat to TV!
We have learned today that it is official - thirty-one productions and HSG have come to an agreement to feature Kid Combat in a set of commercials featuring Volume I: A Secret Lost. The commercials will begin production shortly and will be on the air at a later date. Stay tuned to the site for more details on this historic day!

Pick up the Friday edition of the Chicago Tribune and get the special Printers Row pull out section. In it, you will find the Kid Combat ad running. Remember to stop by station #334 June 7-8 during Printers Row and say hi!

4.30.08 - Printers Row - Here we come!
Today, thirty-one productions has learned that they have secured a spot in the 2008 Chicago Tribune Printers Row Book Fair where they will feature Kid Combat! The Printers Row Book Fair is the largest book fair in the Midweest. The fair is full of highlights including 200+ attending authors. There will be more than 150 Chicagoland book sellers, festivals, and much much more! More details to follow, but come see us June 7-8 right outside the Kids Korner Stage.
4.8.08 - Work on Volume III offically has started!
It was confirmed today by Christopher A. Helwink, the author of the KC books, that work on Volume III has offically began today. "Around 8:30PM words have offically been put down on paper - starting Volume III" Helwink stated. When asked if there were any details he could devulge about V3, he only said - "Maybe in a few weeks..."

4.1.08 - Volume II Nears Completion
No April Fools Joke here! Nearing the finish line is Volume II: The Heist of Spring Road Toys. A working full version of the story is complete and has been submitted to Troy School for reading. Details on when Volume II will actually be published is unknown, but look for more details on the site!

2.07.08 - Another Book Fair Success!
Today Kid Combat was featured at the book fair for Troy School District in Plainfield, Illinois. Located at Crossroads School, Kid Combat was once again a hit with the students. Christopher A. Helwink was also on hand to sign copies of A Secret Lost. The book fair was a great success and we sold out!
Many thanks go out to Kim Walaszek for getting KC to the event. Also, thanks to all the students for coming out, and the facilty and staff at Crossroads for inviting us to their school!
2.07.08 - School and class selected to read Spring Road Toys first!
It was unveiled tonight that Mrs. Walaszek's fourth grade classroom will get an exclusive first peak into Volume II: The Heist of Spring Road Toys! The classroom will be given an advanced copy of the manuscript in which Mrs. Walaszek will read to her class. Hope you enjoy it!
